Terms
The terms, in plain English
DuckCast is run by Haynes & Martin Strategies LLC (“we”). By using the DuckCast website or app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it. Last updated October 1, 2026.
What DuckCast is, and what it is not
DuckCast forecasts waterfowl migration conditions region by region. Its scores are targets, not guarantees. Birds do what birds do, and a high score is not a promise that you will see or shoot anything.
DuckCast is not a source for hunting regulations. Season dates, limits, zones and every other rule come from your state wildlife agency, and you are responsible for checking them and following them. DuckCast never tells you where to hunt on a specific piece of ground, and nothing in it gives you permission to be anywhere.
The radar check shows birds in the air, not ducks in particular. Read it as evidence that a migration happened, not as a duck count.
Free and Pro
The free version shows a real score for today and tomorrow, the color-band map, season timing and the cold-front trend, and lets you file hunter reports. Pro adds the week ahead, the live network map, the radar check, live crop data, the freeze line, reading other hunters' reports, and hunting groups. In the iPhone app, Pro also gets every push alert, where the free app gets a limited number. Pro on this website does not include push alerts.
We may add, change or retire features over time.
Buying Pro in the iPhone app
Pro in the iPhone app is an auto-renewing subscription sold and billed by Apple: monthly, a Season Pass that renews every three months, or yearly, at the price the app shows before you buy. It renews automatically until you cancel. Any free trial is the one shown in the app when you subscribe.
Manage or cancel it any time in Settings, under your Apple ID. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Pro to the end of the period you paid for. Because Apple takes the payment, refunds for App Store purchases go through Apple, not through us. Apple's standard terms for apps also apply to the iPhone app.
Buying Pro on this website
If you buy Pro on this website, the same three plans are offered: monthly, a Season Pass that renews every three months, or yearly. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Sales tax may be added where it applies.
It renews automatically. Your card is charged the price shown at checkout at the start of each new period, until you cancel. There is no minimum term. If the price is ever going to change, we will email you before the renewal it applies to, and you can cancel before then.
Cancelling. Cancel any time from your account page, in a couple of clicks. You keep Pro to the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again.
Refunds. Ask within 7 days of any charge, including a renewal, and we will refund that charge in full and end Pro. After 7 days we don't give partial refunds for the rest of a period you cancel part way through; you simply keep Pro until it ends. To ask, write to amartin@h-mstrategies.com from the address on your account.
Failed payments. If a renewal charge fails, Stripe will retry it. If it keeps failing, Pro on the website ends until a payment goes through.
Free passes
Sometimes we give someone Pro on the website for free. A free pass costs nothing, never renews, never asks for a card, and ends on the date shown on your account page. We can end a free pass early if it is being misused.
Your account on this website
You sign in with a link we email you, so keep that email account secure. An account is for one person. Don't share your sign-in or forward sign-in links. The privacy page says exactly what an account holds.
Hunter reports and hunting groups
Reports and group posts are yours, and you are responsible for them. Keep them to what you saw. No exact locations, no one else's private information, and nothing abusive, threatening or illegal. Reports name a region by design.
By posting, you let us store, show and use what you post to run DuckCast: a report feeds the forecast and is shown to Pro subscribers, and a group post is shown to the members of that group. We can hide or remove anything that breaks these terms, and block anyone who keeps doing it. Readers can flag and block reports themselves.
Using DuckCast fairly
Don't copy, scrape or resell DuckCast's forecasts or data, don't try to get Pro features without paying for them, and don't do anything meant to disrupt the service or other people using it. We can suspend or end access for anyone who does.
Data from other sources
DuckCast is built on public data, including weather from Open-Meteo, radar from NOAA NEXRAD, crop progress from USDA NASS and drought conditions from the US Drought Monitor. That data can be late, wrong or unavailable, and DuckCast inherits it when it is. None of those sources endorses DuckCast.
No guarantees, and limits on what we owe
DuckCast is provided as it is and as it is available. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we don't promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or right about any particular morning.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including a trip, a lease, gear, time or a hunt that did not go the way the forecast suggested. Our total liability for any claim about DuckCast is limited to what you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow some of these limits, and where they don't, they apply only as far as the law allows.
Changes, ending, and the law that applies
We may update these terms. If a change affects what you are paying for, we will say so on this page and, if you have an account, by email before it takes effect. Using DuckCast after a change means you accept it.
You can stop using DuckCast at any time. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem, write to us first; most things can be fixed with an email.
