What works, and what does not yet
DuckCast is a forecast you read in the dark, often tired, often cold, often one-handed. Accessibility is not a side concern for an app used in those conditions. Below is an honest account of where we are. If something here is wrong, or something gets in your way, email amartin@h-mstrategies.com and a person will read it.
Supported today
Reduce Motion
Turn it on in iOS Settings and DuckCast follows it. The animated flock stops flying, and the wind overlay on the migration map turns itself off rather than drifting continuously behind the scores.
Three display modes, including a high-contrast one
Field is the standard dark look. Daylight is built for sun off snow and is the highest-contrast of the three. Blind renders the whole app amber on black for use in the dark without destroying night vision. Switch them from the chip at the top of any screen.
Dark by default
The app is dark in two of its three modes and never flashes a white screen at you, which matters at 4:30 AM more than it does at noon.
Portrait and landscape
Every screen works in both orientations. The migration map gets a wider layout in landscape.
No audio, no video, no time limits
Nothing in DuckCast needs to be heard, and nothing expires while you are reading it. There is no content that requires captions or audio description.
Not supported yet
Listed because you deserve to know before you buy, not after.
Larger Text (Dynamic Type)
This is the real gap. Text in the app does not currently scale with the iOS text size setting, so raising it system-wide will not make DuckCast bigger. We know what it takes to fix and it is planned work, not an oversight we are hoping nobody notices.
Full VoiceOver labelling
Buttons and plain text read correctly, but the migration map, the score breakdown bars and the outlook charts are not yet labelled well enough to use the app by voice alone. The ranked region list below the map is the most usable route in the meantime, since it carries the same scores as text.
Voice Control
Depends on the same control labelling as VoiceOver, so it improves when that does.

Email amartin@h-mstrategies.com. Tell us the screen, the setting you had on, and what happened. We answer accessibility reports ahead of feature requests, and we will tell you honestly whether a fix is days away or months away.
